Giving Back to Our Community
No Obligation!
At the Law Offices of Kevin McConnell, we are honored to be a part of this great community. Sonoma County has been very good to this law practice, and we do our best to give back every day by contributing our time and financial resources to make this a better place for everyone. Being involved and giving back was particularly important as our community fought through the Covid-19 emergency that hurt so many in our friends and neighbors. We are proud to support the following local organizations:
WOMEN’S RECOVERY SERVICES
Women’s Recovery Services was founded in 1975 to provide residential substance abuse treatment exclusively for women, including pregnant women and women parenting young children. At WRS women with infants and young children can participate in addiction treatment without having to leave their children. Mothers attend recovery groups and classes while their children are cared for in our on-site Children’s Program or attend nearby community schools. Kevin McConnell has served as a member of the Board of Directors for WRS since 2017. To learn more about how WRS serves our community, or to make a tax-deductible contribution, visit Women’s Recovery Services.
Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB) is working to end hunger in our community. It is the leader in hunger relief, responding to the immediate needs of people seeking help through the provision of healthy food and nutrition education. REFB pursues long-term solutions to food insecurity through public policy and the development of partnerships with civic, faith-based, corporate, and government organizations and, most importantly, individuals in our community. Kevin McConnell and his family have been proud to regularly volunteer at the food bank. For more information about the food bank, to volunteer to help out, or to make a tax-deductible contribution, please visit the REFB.
This local agency’s mission is to help at-risk children and families obtain safety and shelter using the legal system to secure basic human rights, protect children from abuse and help families maintain housing. Attorney Kevin McConnell taught a monthly legal workshop at LASC for ten years. To learn more or to make a tax-deductible contribution, visit Legal Aid of Sonoma County.
Each year, the Sonoma County Bar Association arranges for judges and experienced attorneys to appear in local high schools to make presentations and conduct question-and-answer sessions on current issues in the law that are of interest to the students. Kevin McConnell is one of the regular presenters and is invited each year to work with our local students. For more information, visit Sonoma County Bar Association.
Prior to the Covid-19 court closures, Kevin McConnell, as an experienced trial attorney, regularly volunteered his time to serve the Sonoma Superior Court as a Settlement Conference Panelist. Panelists oversee court-required settlement conferences designed to help parties and their attorneys settle cases without the need for a trial. For more information, visit Sonoma Superior Court.
